CDN Delivery

A delivery network built for video

Your stream is served from the edge location closest to each viewer, so a broadcast from London plays as cleanly in Sydney as it does in Manchester.

At a glance

  • Edge locations on six continents
  • Automatic failover between CDN providers
  • TLS delivery on every stream
  • Player bandwidth pooled across live and on-demand

What video cdn gives you

General-purpose CDNs treat video like any other file. Ours is tuned specifically for segmented streaming: aggressive edge caching of HLS segments, connection reuse, and routing that reacts to congestion rather than ignoring it.

  • Global edge presence

Points of presence across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, Africa and the Middle East.

  • Multi-CDN routing

Traffic is steered across providers based on live performance data, routing around regional congestion automatically.

  • Segment-aware caching

HLS and DASH segments are cached at the edge, so a large audience in one region pulls from origin only once.

  • Elastic scale

Ten viewers or a hundred thousand, capacity is provisioned automatically with nothing for you to pre-book.

  • HTTPS everywhere

Every stream is delivered over TLS with modern ciphers, satisfying mixed-content rules on secure pages.

  • Delivery analytics

See throughput, rebuffering ratio and startup time broken down by region and by ISP.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about video cdn on CastNest.

How is bandwidth calculated?

Player bandwidth is the total data delivered to viewers through the CastNest player and your embeds in a billing month, across both live and on-demand playback. A one-hour 1080p stream at 4 Mbps delivered to 100 viewers uses roughly 180 GB. Video pushed to third-party platforms through multistreaming is not counted against it.

What happens if I exceed my plan's bandwidth?

Streams keep running. You are notified as you approach the limit so you can move up a plan before it becomes a problem — we do not cut a live broadcast off mid-event.

Can I use my own domain for delivery?

Yes. Custom domain delivery is included from Premium upwards, which keeps the viewing experience fully branded.
