What ip camera streaming gives you

IP cameras speak RTSP, which browsers do not. CastNest sits in between: it pulls the camera feed, transcodes it continuously and publishes a stream that plays anywhere without a plugin or a viewer app.

  • RTSP and RTMP ingest

Connect cameras from Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Reolink, Amcrest and any other vendor that exposes a standard stream URL.

  • Continuous 24/7 operation

Feeds are designed to run indefinitely, with automatic reconnection when a camera or network drops.

  • Browser-ready output

RTSP is transcoded to HLS so the feed plays in any browser with no plugin and no native app.

  • Multiple cameras, one page

Publish several feeds and lay them out in a single embedded grid for a live wall view.

  • Access restrictions

Keep a feed internal with password protection, domain locks or geo-blocking.

  • Recording and playback

Archive camera output to your VOD library so you can review or share past footage.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about ip camera streaming on CastNest.

Which IP cameras are compatible?

Any camera that publishes an RTSP or RTMP stream, which covers effectively all mainstream brands including Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Reolink, Amcrest, Ubiquiti and Foscam. You need the camera's stream URL and credentials.

Do I need a static IP or port forwarding?

If CastNest pulls from the camera, the feed needs to be reachable from the internet, which usually means port forwarding or a VPN. Alternatively you can push from a local encoder or NVR to CastNest over RTMP, which needs no inbound access at all.

Can I embed a live camera feed on my own website?

Yes. Each camera stream gets an embed snippet that drops into any web page, and you can restrict it to your own domains so the feed cannot be lifted elsewhere.
